SNAP meetings usually take place on the second Tuesday of each month.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of your photographic emphasis or experience level.
Come join us.
The next scheduled meeting is:
TBD at 7pm
(since the 2nd Tues is Valentine's Day the meeting date may change, will post here when we know)
at
The Indigo Hotel
301 Union St
Downtown Nashville
For our February meeting, on Tues. the 14th, Laura Carpenter is organizing
a critique based around the "decisive moment."
(The more alert of you will notice that this is a change of plans; hopefully we can look forward to
Nick Dantona's presentation on constructive critique sessions later in the year.)
As you may know, Henri Cartier-Bresson was famous for the idea of the decisive moment.
In his words (from 1957): "There is a creative fraction of a second when you are taking a picture.
Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you
must know with intuition when to click the camera.
That is the moment the photographer is creative," he said,
"Oop! The Moment! Once you miss it, it is gone forever."
If you're interested in being part of the critique,
please send Laura ONE photo, your own photo, related
to the theme by Sunday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m.
The first 20 photos I receive will be in the critique,
I don't think we'll have time for more than that.

You are always welcome to bring images in physical or digital form to the meetings,
however, we may not always have a digital projector available at every meeting.
With digital images a JPEG file on a USB thumb drive is preferred.
Photographers are chosen randomly at the monthly meetings, to have the opportunity to display
one of their images on the front page of this site. The image remains as the front page image for
one month, or until the next general meeting of the group.
We are always looking for interesting and easily accessible spaces to hold monthly meetings.
If you would like to host a meeting, put on a presentation, or propose a field trip: let us know!
Thanks and see you soon!
